People were waking up and heading outside Tuesday feeling the initial chill of fall in the Milwaukee area.
Temperatures have dramatically dropped and will fall even more, near the freezing mark in some areas by the end of Tuesday.
"It will be feeling like fall in southeast Wisconsin with highs struggling to reach 60 degrees," said Storm Team 4Cast Jesse Ritka.
"On top of temperatures that are ten degrees below average, the NW wind will have a bite to it: sustained at 10-20 mph, gusting to 30 mph."
She also says that most, but not all , of southeastern Wisconsin will avoid the wet stuff.
"Skies will be partly cloudy at times and there is a slight chance for a spotty shower or sprinkle, but most locations stay dry."
Then comes the kicker - posisble frost in our area Tuesday night.
"With clear skies expected tonight, temperatures will drop into the low 40s and the lakefront but an overnight low of 35 degrees in Waukesha and inland could cause some patchy frost," explained Jesse.
Temperatures will warm up a little bit as the week continues.
"It will still be breezy on Wednesday but the winds will have a southerly direction to help warm us back up into the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. A weak front swings through Wednesday night, bringing a slight chance for rain before drying out by Thursday. The next best chance for rain comes on Friday and temperatures stay in the 60s through the weekend.
