MILWAUKEE – For many high school football teams in the Milwaukee area, the Friday night jitters are just beginning to fade away as teams settle into mid-season form.
This week’s slate of Friday Football Frenzy games featured a slew of highlights to be seen from these games in Week 3:
Kenosha Christian Life at Living Word Lutheran
The Christian Life Timberwolves took control of the game throughout. The Timberwolves were led behind 284 total yards from senior quarterback Kurt Janetzke, the Timberwolves would pull away with the win, 48-13.
Grafton at Nicolet
After getting off the right foot with a 90-yard kickoff return to start the game from junior Sam Miller, the Grafton Warhawks would control this one from wire-to-wire, finishing the game with a 49-14 victory over the Nicolet Knights.
Germantown at Whitefish Bay
Following a low-scoring, defensive struggle heading into halftime, the Germantown Warhawks took their play to another level in the second half against the Blue Dukes. After taking the lead 10-3 on a 1-yard run from Kyle Theus on fourth down, Germantown would not look back, winning over Whitefish Bay 23-14.
Franklin at Racine Horlick
Racine Horlick Rebels hosted Franklin this Friday but home field advantage meant nothing to the Sabers, who won in a big way, 28-16.
Waukesha South at Muskego
The Cardinals of Waukesha South had their hands full on Friday as they took on Muskego in a thriller. The two teams went blow-for-blow as they took it down to the wire. Despite 168 yards passing from quarterback Cannon Cooley and 165 yards rushing from Isaiah Pitchford, the Cardinals would need Pitchford once more as he nailed a 34-yard field goal with three seconds left to seal the deal. The Cardinals would win, 31-28.
New Berlin Eisenhower at Pewaukee
The hometown fans in Pewaukee got their money’s worth as the Pirates got their running attack going behind Collin Sternad. On nine carries, Sternad would rack up 82 yards and two touchdowns aw the Pewaukee Pirates would win big in a major way. They would earn the 42-7 win over New Berlin Eisenhower.
New Berlin West at Wauwatosa West
The “Best of the West” showdown in between the Trojans and Vikings took place in Wauwatosa tonight as Tosa West took on New Berlin West. The Vikings would end up on top behind a 210-yard rushing contribution from Bryan Watson. New Berlin West wins, 28-20.
