MILWAUKEE - This week’s edition of the Frenzy featured a slew of great contests and one epic showdown for the ages. Three of the undefeated teams featured on the Frenzy this week found themselves some worthy opponents as they were tested under the Friday night lights.
This week’s slate on Friday Football Frenzy featured highlights from the following game in Week 6:
Wisconsin Lutheran at Oconomowoc
This game would prove to be an epic showdown between two high-octane offenses. Oconomowoc quarterback Canton Larson would score eight touchdowns; four passing and four rushing. In addition, he contributed for 493 yards total.
Wisconsin Lutheran would not go down without a fight as they took on the undefeated Racoons. They would produce 708 offensive yards total but that would not be enough. This game will go down to the wire as the Coons and Vikings went blow for blow.
In the end, the Racoons would wind up on top, beating the Vikings, 84-82. No, that is not a typo. It was the highest-scoring high school football game in state history.
Oconomowoc moves on to 6-0 in a game for the ages.
Milwaukee King vs. Milwaukee Washington at Custer Stadium
The Rufus King Generals came up with a big win over City Conference rival, Washington. The General’s Diamante Freeman would have a big night and his team would win big over the Purgolders, 36-14.
King now stands two games over .500, at 4-2 on the year.
South Milwaukee at Greenfield
The South Milwaukee Rockets have been on a tear, managing to go 5-0 heading into Week 6. However, The Hustlin’ Hawks of Greenfield would not make it easy for the soaring Rockets.
After trailing 13-10 heading into the half, South Milwaukee would show why they are undefeated, winning over the Hawks, 23-20 in a close one. They move on to 6-0.
Milwaukee Marquette vs. Sussex Hamilton at Hart Park
Sussex Hamilton got off to a quick, 14-0 start behind running back Drew Patterson. However, the Marquette Hilltoppers would have something to say about that.
After scoring the next 14 points, Marquette would take over the game, pulling ahead 38-21. The Hilltoppers roll on and they are now 5-1 on the year.
Howards Grove at Oostburg
Howard’s Grove took off to Oostburg in hopes of coming out of Week 6 with their first victory in the books. However, tonight would not be their night as the Dutchmen roll, 47-8.
Oostburg is now 5-1 on the year heading into the home stretch.
Germantown at Grafton
The Germantown Warhawks would head into Grafton looking to continue ascending in the standings. Wideout Nick Holcomb would have a big game for Germantown, contributing 84 yards receiving and two big touchdowns.
The Warhawks win big, 35-0 and are now 5-1.
Homestead at Cedarburg
The reigning Division 2 state champion Homestead looked to continue on in their winning ways as they traveled to Cedarburg to take on a tough Bulldogs team. The Highlanders were challenged as Cedarburg rallied in the fourth with two late touchdowns.
It would be too little, too late for the Bulldogs as Homestead wins a tight one, 35-31. Homestead remains one of the few undefeated teams left as they move to 6-1 on the season.
