An 8-year-old girl in Erie, Pa., is lucky to be alive after a driver fleeing from police struck a parked car and sent it spinning into the child as she rode her scooter on the sidewalk outside her home.
The terrifying crash, which happened May 9, was caught on surveillance video and has quickly gone viral (watch it above).
The girl, Cassidy Wall, miraculously suffered only a concussion, despite having been sent flying and landing on her head.
Wall says watching the footage of her accident made her upset.
"When I saw the video, every time I thought about it, I started crying," she told NBC affiliate WICU. "It hurted my feelings, and I didn't like what I saw. I fell and flew in the air, and I landed on my head.”
Her five-year-old sister Zmyiah witnessed the accident, but was able to avoid being struck by the car herself.
“Police eventually caught up to the men they say were in the car at the time, arresting suspected driver Angello Moore and passenger Brandon Carlson,” reports NBC Philadelphia. “Moore, 18, was sent to county jail, unable to post $125,000 bail. He faces 22 counts, including fleeing police, aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless endangerment, drug possession and related charges, according to court documents. Carlson, 18, faces firearm and marijuana charges. He remains jailed, unable to post $20,000 bail, according to online court records.”
The child's father, Delorean Wall, told WICU, "I was terrified... I still [am] terrified. As a father, you don't want that to happen to your children. It's crazy."
