WATCH: Flood destroys Nebraska hospital cafeteria

By Phyllis Stark. CREATED Aug 14, 2014

A flash flood in Kearney, Nebraska, broke through the locked glass doors of a hospital cafeteria last weekend, sending nine feet of water rushing into the room. The whole thing was captured by surveillance cameras at Good Samaritan Hospital early Saturday morning.

Local station KHGI reports that hospital administrators say heavy rain backed up the city's sewer, causing the flash flood. A basement was flooded as well.

No one was hurt, and the water didn't reach any patient areas, according to KHGI.
