John Axford is an original fellow. The former Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Indians pitcher is a movie buff with a perfect record of picking Oscar winners, and he's also a mustache connoisseur.

Perhaps nothing he's done, however, can top how he greeted fans when he became a Pittsburgh Pirate in a trade this week.

He dressed up in a pirate costume.

No, not a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball jersey costume. An actual pirate costume.
