Fans of the late Elvis Presley will have a new place to sleep soon when visiting Graceland in Memphis.
Priscilla Presley and local leaders broke ground on Thursday for a 450-room, resort-style hotel just north of Graceland, Elvis' famous estate.
The Guest House at Graceland is the largest hotel project in Shelby County in the last 30 years, according to the Memphis Daily News.
The groundbreaking took place during Elvis Week, which attracts thousands of fans each year to Elvis' Memphis home.
Priscilla Presley, who was once married to the King of Rock 'n' Roll, says the hotel will be an "approachable place."
According to WREG-TV Channel 3 in Memphis, Priscilla also said that Elvis had many plans for Graceland and now his dreams for the property are being realized.
City leaders hope that the new hotel will help revitalize the Whitehaven neighborhood, whre Graceland is located. The neighborhood has become run down in recent years.
The Heartbreak Hotel, which is located near Graceland, will close after the new hotel opens. The Guest House at Graceland is scheduled to open next August. It will cost approximately $70 million to build.
