Oregon family flees in fear of cat, calls 911 for help

By Joyce Lupiani. CREATED Mar 11, 2014

A family in Oregon desperately called 911 Sunday night after their 22-pound house cat went on the attack.

The terrifying incident began after the cat, who has a "history of violence," attacked an infant.

The baby's father kicked the cat in the backside, but that just enraged the black-and-white Himalayan.

Mom, Dad, baby and even the family dog fled to a bedroom in fear.

The cat, who is named Lux, was still determined to wreak havoc and he blocked the bedroom door. The family called 911 and the Lux can clearly be heard on the call howling in rage outside of the locked door.

When police officers arrived, they saw Lux make a dash for the kitchen. Eventually, they were able to corner him on top of a refrigerator and put him in a kennel.

Lux was left by the officers with his family and eventually returned to normal.
