-WINTER STORM WARNING for all of Middle TN

A potent late winter storm will bring icy conditions across Middle Tennessee tonight and into Thursday.  Rain changes to freezing rain and sleet this evening into the first part of tonight before changing to all snow by Thursday morning.  This will make travel conditions very hazardous overnight into Thursday.  Areas north of I-40 could see 3-6" of sleet/snow with southern areas seeing 1-3".  The highest amounts are likely across Northwestern areas from Clarksville through Hopkinsville and farther north into Southern Kentucky where 5-8" of sleet and snow is possible.  Highs on Thursday will stay below freezing so slick road conditions are likely to stay around much of the day.  Warmer weather returns for Saturday and Sunday.  This is a developing storm and amounts could change...  Stay with the Storm 5 HD Weather Team for the latest.
