RECIPE # 4572 - NANNIE'S BOILED CUSTARD - Tuesday, December 14, 2010

DAISY KING / MISS DAISY'S KITCHEN

4 egg yolks
1/2 c sugar
2 heaping tablespoons flour
1 quart milk , scalded ( I use half milk and half cream)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
 
Assemble ingredients and utensils. In a heavy saucepan, beat egg yolks. Add sugar and flour. Add 1 cup of hot milk and mix well..Add the remaining milk and stir constantly over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Refrigerate. yield: 6-8 servings
