RECIPE #5038 - SOUTHERN BOURBON BREAD PUDDING, Thursday, July 18, 2013

CHRIS NEWTON / CHEF CHRISTOPHER'S CATERING

1 loaf of day old French bread (any bread will work)
3 cups heavy cream
8 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup Bourbon (optional)
spray on oil
Topping:
2 cups powdered sugar
3 tbsp heavy cream
splash of vanilla
 
Preheat oven to 325
Spray baking pan with oil
Slice French bread and layer in pan
In separate bowl, mix cream, eggs, sugar, and vanilla
Pour over Bread
Bake 30-40 min or until firm
Sprinkle with Bourbon
In separate bowl, mix powered sugar, cream, and vanilla. Mix until smooth
Pour over cooked Bread Pudding
