RECIPE # 4265 - HEAVENLY CHOCOLATE HEARTS, Friday, February 6, 2009
KITA DAVIS / THE BAKE-TRESS
What you will need:
1 silicone heart-shaped Pan (can be purchased at Target and other retail stores)
1 pastry brush
2 T butter
8 squares of Hershey's Dark Chocolate Mildly Sweet Chocolate
1/3 c sugar
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 c evaporated milk
1 small jar chocolate sprinkles
1 pkg fillo dough
1 T butter
Melt 2 tablespoons butter and chocolate in a saucepan on medium heat. Add 1/3 cup of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 cup of milk.
Bring to a boil and stir for approximately 12 minutes. Remove from heat.
Unroll fillo dough about 1 inch. Cut dough from rest of the pack. Separate 3 sheets of dough.
Melt 1 tablespoon butter and spread on 1st sheet of fillo dough. Take melted chocolate mixture and spread over first sheet of fillo. Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles. Layer 2nd sheet of fillo and repeat the layer of butter, chocolate and sprinkles. Add the 3rd layer of fillo and repeat the butter and chocolate spread. Cut the layers in squares and press into silicone hearts pan, bottom side up. Pour chocolate on top layer.
Cook at 325 degrees for 15 minutes, let cool for 1 hour to harden.
