Scary diving accident caught on video

Scary diving accident caught on video

By Phyllis Stark. CREATED Jul 29, 2014

The dramatic video showing a scary diving accident was shot by a clearly horrified onlooker at Lava Hot Springs water park in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It has netted more than two million views since it was posted to YouTube July 12.

It shows a swimmer balking at the top of a 10-meter-high diving platform. Possibly spooked by a man who runs up beside her and jumps, the woman grabs the railing then loses her balance, and then her grip. She sickeningly plummets stomach-first onto a lower diving platform. From there, she’s flipped into a somersault and plunged into the water.

Incredibly, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reports, “Despite her ordeal, the woman [escaped] unhurt apart from a slightly injured finger.”

Still, we’re willing to bet she can’t watch this video without cringing. Watch it below.
