Parade, Picnic Held For Cumberland University’s Baseball Team
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s baseball team was welcomed home as National Champions on Monday morning.
The Bulldogs posted a 3-0 win over Lewis-Clark State at the Avista NAIA World Series in Idaho on Friday night.
The team rode down Main Street in Lebanon as part of a parade that kicked off the celebration Monday morning in Lebanon. It was followed by food and festivities at a picnic at Ernest L. Stockton Field.
This is the team’s third time to win the national championship in the last 10 years. Cumberland claimed national titles in 2004 and 2010 along with a runner-up finish in 2006 before Friday’s victory.
With the win, they were the lowest seed (No. 10) to ever claim a national title.
