Feds Agree To Drop Charges Against Dekalb County Mayor
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Federal prosecutors have agreed to drop criminal charges against Dekalb County Mayor Mike Foster.
It's part of the on-going case involving the Upper Cumberland Development District.
Foster had been charged with one count of making false statements regarding the Living the Dream facility in rural Putnam County.
But Foster's lawyer had filed a motion, arguing that video recorded by NewsChannel 5 during a public meeting proved that the Dekalb County mayor wasn't really in on the conspiracy involving former UCDD boss Wendy Askins.
Prosecutors and Foster's lawyer filed an agreed order to dismiss the charges. It's waiting on a judge's signature.
