Unlicensed Contractor Sentenced To 4 Months In Jail
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An unlicensed contractor who was the focus of a NewsChannel 5 investigation will soon be heading to jail.
NewsChannel 5 Investigates first exposed how Gary Carlton worked for years without a state contractor's license and repeatedly ignored orders from the state to stop working.
Carlton was recently found guilty of working without a license, a crime that even the DA admitted normally doesn't lead to jail time.
But because of his past, the judge sentenced him to jail. He will spend four months behind bars and the rest of his two-year sentence on probation.
Carlton is due to report to jail next week.
