Broken Fire Hydrant Sprays Water On Busy Roadway
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A broken fire hydrant spraying water on a busy roadway in south Nashville caused some issues for commuters on Wednesday morning.
The fire hydrant broke around 5 a.m. near the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Bell Road.
The water sprayed into the roadway, and froze over due to the sub-freezing temperatures.
Metro Public Works Crews dug up the side of the road to reach the busted pipe, either to seal or replace it.
Metro Police blocked one lane while crews worked to repair the break.
