K-9 Officer Helps Apprehend Robbery Suspect

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A K-9 Officer helped apprehend a suspect accused of robbing at least three area pharmacies in Nashville and Franklin. 

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 41-year-old Robert Garrett, of Brentwood, was arrested Sunday afternoon. They said he confessed to robbing the CVS Pharmacy just after 7:30 a.m. on Nolensville Pike.

Police said the suspect later admitted to robbing the Walgreens Pharmacy, also on Nolensville Pike, around 4:40 a.m. along with another pharmacy in Franklin.

Police said a K-9 Officer named, Echo, apprehended the suspect behind a home on Parishwood Court in South Nashville. They said a shotgun and more than 1000 pills were recovered.

Garrett has been charged with aggravated robbery, burglary, felony drug possession, felony theft and vandalism. 

A court date was not immediately known.
