Spruced Up UT Campus To Greet Students
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Students and visitors to the University of Tennessee are being greeted with a spruced up campus.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported students returning to class and visitors to football games that start later this month will see the new pedestrian bridge across Phillip Fulmer Way that says "The University of Tennessee."
The campus also has new landscaping and a brick wall that stretches from the parking lot next to Neyland Stadium. In addition, a new Fred D. Brown Jr. Residence Hall sits where there once was a parking lot.
The changes come as part of nearly $1 billion in construction projects underway at the UT campus. Construction on the projects kicked into high gear over the summer, which has led to some big changes in how the campus looks.
