Williamson Co. Animal Control Trying To Break New Record

By Laken Bowles. CREATED Aug 23, 2014

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – An animal adoption center in Williamson County has asked the public’s help in trying to break a new record.

The Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center in Franklin tried to adopt out 31 animals in one day, as part of a 100-K Challenge in which they're competing.

The goal for the challenge is to save 809 lives by the end of August. So far, the group is in second place for its division and ranked 12th in the nation.

“We've got about nine days left to go and we're within I think 35 adoptions, so we're doing everything we can to really close this thing out with a rush,” said Mark Basenberg, Community Relations Coordinator.

On Sunday, the animal shelter will be open from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.
