NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When University School of Nashville students return to class on Tuesday, they’ll see the results of an $8 million face lift.
The renovations -- including updated classrooms, a new lobby, and a refurbished pool – are part of the school’s centennial celebration.
School leaders say the improvements will help students learn.
“What we've done is create a functional way to get from one end of the building to the other at the ground floor level, which is tying the whole school together, and in the process, we are renovating and restoring some really fascinating and significant features going back to the 1920s,” said Vince Durnan, the director of the University School of Nashville.
About 1,000 students currently go to the school, which boasts 4 thousand alums around the world, including the main architect in charge of the recent renovations.
