Thieves Steal From Animal Rescue Group

By Jenny White. CREATED Jul 27, 2014

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A car burglary in broad daylight shocked members of a middle Tennessee animal rescue group, and now that burglary is forcing them to operate without some much needed equipment.

Members of the Proverbs 12:10 Rescue Group say they parked a van at the Bellevue Staples parking lot Saturday morning, and they returned to find the car broken into.

Their laptop and Wi-Fi connecter, worth $1,000 was taken.

The group says it uses the laptop to keep track of pet adoptions it helps facilitate.

The group says it would rather spend time helping dogs find new homes than trying to shop for a new Wi-Fi connector and laptop.

“Both of those are very helpful to us on adoption day, so to steal from a non-profit is just a double insult,” said Lavonne Redferrin.

The thieves had also taken a toolbox filled with heartworm medication, but it was found dumped very close to where their van was parked in the Bellevue Staples parking lot.
