Police: Shots Fired When Robbery Victim Attempts To Chase Down Suspects

By Cuthbert Langley. CREATED Jul 30, 2014 - UPDATED: Jul 30, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Shots were fired when a robbery victim attempted to chase down the accused suspects overnight.

Around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, Metropolitan Nashville Police said three or four men with guns robbed an employee in the parking lot of Express Pizza & Gyros on Jefferson Street. The gunmen then went inside the building, and demanded money from the business.

As they fled the scene in a vehicle, the employee saw them leave and followed them in his vehicle.

The suspects eventually pulled over near 21st Avenue North at Knowles Street, and police said they fired shots before running away from the vehicle. No one was injured.

Police brought out K9 units to search the nearby area, but did not locate the suspects.

There was no surveillance video inside the restaurant, so police do not have a good description of the gunmen.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at (615)74-CRIME.
