Patient Talks About Alleged Sexual Assault At Hospital

By Nick Beres. CREATED Sep 4, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A patient recently treated at an area hospital has claimed she was the victim of a sexual assault while undergoing a CT scan.

The alleged victim has spoken out in an exclusive interview about what she said happened.

"I was shocked. I didn't know if I was dreaming," said the patient, who did not wish to be identified.

It's scary enough suffering a seizure. What's worse? Regaining consciousness in an unfamiliar place.

"It took me about 5 seconds for me to realize this is for real going on," said the patient.

She found herself at Skyline Hospital after being rushed there for an emergency CT scan. There was a male technician present, and she said what happened next almost sent her into another seizure.

"I woke up and he had my hand around his penis and he was smiling very big. I was looking at the ceiling and then I looked over and I said ‘what?’" she said.

Metro Police have arrested 36-year-old Adam Wright, charging him with sexual battery.

The CT technician has been accused of not only placing the woman's hand in his pants, but then later, when she got up, showing her cellphone photos of his genitals.

"I could not believe it. I was insulted. I could not believe it," she said.

She told a friend who took her to the hospital what happened in the CT room, and then reported the incident to police.

She can't believe something like this would happen in a controlled setting inside a hospital, especially when she was so vulnerable recovering from the seizure.

"Scared and ridiculous and uncalled for," she said.

The patient now worries every time she goes to a hospital, which is often because of frequent seizures. She decided to speak out to alert others that something like this can happen almost anywhere.

"People underestimate me because I'm a skinny girl, but I'm very strong and I'm not going to let this happen to another woman," she said.

Skyline Medical Center immediately suspended Wright, following his arrest. He has since been released on bond.

NewsChannel 5 tried unsuccessfully to locate him for comment.

A hospital spokesperson said they are assisting police with the investigation. Wright underwent a background check before being hired and was an employee in good standing up until this arrest.
