NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested Tuesday night after police said he stabbed his neighbor.
Around 8 p.m., police said Jerry Cowden went to his neighbor’s house on Largo Drive and got into an argument with two females in their driveway. A Davidson County affidavit said he believed they had stolen from him.
During the argument, the 36-year-old allegedly pushed one of them and threw beer on the other. Cowden and one of the females got into a physical fight where the affidavit said he punched her, pushed her to the ground, and began choking her.
During that time, a man, who also lives at the home, drove into the driveway and saw the fight. The affidavit said he got out of his car and grabbed Cowden to get him off of the female.
The two were then able to run inside the house. Cowden allegedly pulled out a knife when he and the man continued to argue.
The affidavit said the man tried to go inside the house, but Cowden followed him onto the porch and stabbed him in the chest.
Cowden allegedly went back to his house, where he was found with the bloody knife on the floor in front of his bedroom. During an interview, detectives said Cowden admitted to stabbing the man.
The male victim was taken to the hospital, but his condition was unknown.
There were several video cameras outside of the home, and police were able to review the video of the incident, according to the affidavit.
Cowden was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $90,000.
