NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has appointed Judge Timothy Lee Easter to the Court of Criminal Appeals.

Easter, of Brentwood, has been appointed to replace Judge Jerry L. Smith, who is retiring. The appointment becomes effective September 1.

The 54-year-old has been a circuit court judge for the 21st Judicial District, which consists of Williamson, Hickman, Lewis and Perry counties.

“We are fortunate to have a person with this level of experience on the bench, and I am pleased to make this appointment to the Court of Criminal Appeals,” Haslam said. “Having Judge Easter in this position will serve the Middle Section well.”

Easter, a 1982 graduate of Lipscomb University, has also served as an adjunct professor for the school.
