NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Although it wasn't on her "bucket" list, country music legend Dolly Parton took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
She said she was challenged by many different people, including a dare from fellow country legend Kenny Rogers.
“Kenny said ‘you'll never do it with your false hair, your false eyelashes, and your false nails,’” Dolly said in the video posted Thursday. “Kenny, you'd be surprised at what all I do with my falses; for a good cause and a good laugh.”
Dolly removed her earrings and a scarf before two of her nieces dumped the ice water over her head at her home in Nashville.
Dolly, who recently finished up her Blue Smoke World Tour, did not challenge anyone, but urged everyone to make a donation to ALS.
Due to the recent popularity of the Ice Bucket Challenge, the ALS Association said it has raised $94.3 million since July 29. During the same period last year, the ALSA said it only raised $2.7 million.
