Water Main Break Forces Early Closure Of Coffee County Schools
MANCHESTER, Tenn. – All Coffee County Schools closed early Wednesday due to a water main break.
The break occurred at Highway 53 and Riddle Road. Crews from the Hillsville Utility District were working to make repairs.
Utility crews have been forced to shut down water in the New Union area, where two schools are located.
The lack of water at the buildings prompted officials to close those schools.
Officials said closing just two schools would cause a transportation issue, so all other schools in the county also closed at noon.
