Clarksville Man Accused Of Robbing, Attacking Woman
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A 48-year-old Montgomery County man has been accused of robbing and attacking a woman inside her Millersville residence back in June.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Charles Howard Smith was indicted on July 19 with one count of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, one count of Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Aggravated Assault.
Smith has been accused of entering a woman’s trailer at the Owl’s Roost RV Park on the morning of June 27.
The TBI said he broke into her trailer armed with a pistol. Once inside, he allegedly bound and robbed her.
A neighbor who witnessed the incident called police.
Two Officers with the Millersville Police Department responded to the scene. Smith allegedly pointed a pistol at the officers and he was shot several times in retaliation.
Smith was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries. On Friday, he was booked on the charges before being discharged from the hospital.
He was released into the custody of the Tennessee Department of Correction on a $50,000 bond.
