2 Police Captains, 2 Others Charged In East Tennessee
NEWPORT, Tenn. (AP) - A Cocke County grand jury has charged two Newport Police Department captains and two other people with selling stolen goods and prescription pills.
WVLT-TV in Knoxville reported that Newport officers James Holt and Roger Lynn Schults were charged Wednesday with official misconduct and money laundering. Holt has also been charged with five counts of sale of a controlled substance.
Grand jurors also charged Holt's wife, Newport Alderwoman Kathy Darlene Holt, with money laundering, and charged her son, Kenneth Trece Myers, with conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Court records did not list attorneys for any of the four indicted.
