Metro Police Investigate 2 Overnight Shootings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police in Nashville are investigating separate shootings that sent two people to the hospital overnight. One of the victims was a 15-year-old.

Metropolitan Nashville Police were first called to Ewingdale Drive just before midnight. A man was arriving at his home after work when a gunman approached and opened fire as he opened his front door.

His roommates came home to find him shot.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where police said he was in critical condition.

The shooter was described as a man in a white t-shirt and black jogging shorts.

Less than an hour later, police officers were called to another shooting at the Orchard Apartments on Sealey Drive in Madison.

Police said a 15-year-old was shot by two other teens at a playground across the street. He was hit in the kneecap, and also taken to Vanderbilt with non-critical injuries.

The two shootings were not believed to be connected. No arrests have been made.
