3 Men Accused Of Kidnapping, Assaulting Couple In DeKalb County
DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. - Three men have been taken into custody for allegedly kidnapping and beating a couple with an ax handle.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said 42-year-old Jimmy Hendrixson, Jr., 36-year-old Casey Jacobs, and 48-year-old Comas Higgins, all from Dowelltown, have been charged with two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping.
Sheriff Patrick Ray said the trio met the victims at a bridge on New Bildad Road on Friday night. The couple was assaulted with an ax handle, tied up, and had their mouths taped shut.
The man was able to escape, and ran to a nearby residence for help. The three men then drove the woman to their home on Old Snow Hill Road.
Deputies responded, and the male victim was able to identify his attackers. They soon found the woman alone and still tied up at the home.
Neither victim was seriously hurt, though the man was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
Sheriff Ray did not release a motive for the kidnapping and assault. The case remained under investigation.
