Deputies Recapture Mistakenly Released Inmate
JACKSON, Tenn. – An inmate who was mistakenly released from the Madison County jail has been recaptured.
WBBJ in Jackson reported that Madison County Sheriff's deputies arrested 29-year-old Terron Derell Kinnie around 7:30 p.m. Monday following a brief foot chase. A tip had led deputies to an east Jackson duplex, where Kinnie tried to run away. He was chased down in the woods within 10 minutes.
Officials with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said Kinnie was released on bond from the J. Alexander Leech Criminal Justice Complex in Jackson on Friday, July 18.
A $20,000 bond had been set for Kinnie on charges of simple possession of marijuana and criminal impersonation.
The supervisor clearing Kinnie for release failed to realize he had additional warrants out for his arrest on other charges of failure to appear and criminal impersonation. Bond had not yet been set on these charges.
Kinnie has now been booked into the Madison County Jail. Prosecutors will determine if he will face any additional charges.
