McGavock Baseball Team Closer To Replacing Burned Down Concession Stand

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The McGavock High School Baseball team is one step closer to getting a brand new concession stand. Their old one burned down last week in a case of arson, according to investigators.

In the last seven days, the McGavock Baseball Boosters said alumni, friends and nearby businesses have all banded together offering donations for the team to purchase a new concession stand.

The stand is an important way the team raises money during its games, often contributing 15 to 20 percent of its budget.

Volunteers have cleared the old site of trees that were burned in the arson that happened a week ago, and several businesses have come forward pledging their support for a new stand.

“When something tragic like this happens, rival or not, everyone just comes together, just to help the boys,” said Becky Moss, a McGavock High School Baseball mom.

The team hopes to have its new concession stand up and running by the start of the next baseball season.
