Two Teens Arrested For Trying To Rob Woman Leaving East Nashville Restaurant
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two teenagers have been arrested for attacking two women and trying to steal one of their purses as they left an East Nashville restaurant Saturday night.
The teenagers, ages 15 and 17, are facing attempted robbery charges.
Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department say the attempted robbery happened around 10 p.m. in a parking lot near the 900 block of W. Eastland Avenue.
Investigators say the women left a nearby restaurant and were walking to their vehicle when three young men followed them. The victim was grabbed from behind and as she struggled to hang onto her purse, she was pushed to the ground.
The three suspects ran away.
The victim was not seriously injured.
Police say a tip led them to a nearby home where the 15-year-old was located. The 17-year-old was also found at a nearby residence.
Both teens implicated themselves in the incident.
They are both charged in Juvenile Court with attempted robbery.
Detectives are pursuing strong leads in identifying the third suspect.
