Officials Remove Crashed Semi From I-24W Near Manchester
MANCHESTER, Tenn. – Westbound lanes of Interstate 24 were closed in Coffee County while officials worked to remove a crashed semi-truck from the roadway.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the work began around 1 p.m. at mile marker 111 in Manchester and lasted for several hours. As a result, traffic had to be re-routed around the incident.
Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the collision occurred Friday but crews were forced to remove the semi-truck Saturday afternoon.
Details of the collision were not immediately known.
Westbound traffic was completely shut down while officials work to clear the scene. Eastbound traffic was not affected by the incident.
No other details have been released.
The interstate has since reopened.
