FedEx Considering Opening Operation In Mt. Juliet
MT. JULIET, Tenn. – Two major corporations have considered building new operation centers in Wilson County and many residents said they’re open to the idea of more possibilities.
Mary Nell Breeden, with Breeden's Orchard in Mt. Juliet, said her business has already seen change, thanks to more development in the area.
“Traffic has gotten a little bit heavier since we do have the Beckwith interchange but that just helps our business,” she said.
FedEx was one of two large corporations considering opening an operation center along interstate 40 near Beckwith Road. Right now, it's just an empty lot with lots of green space but if the shipping giant decides to call Wilson County home, a brand new facility could be built.
With the recent re-zoning of this area for industrial use, it's possible other big corporations could follow, changing the empty landscape and helping small businesses grow
A new FedEx facility would mean Mary Nell Breeden can spend more time taking care of her customers.
“I don't make the fruit logs or the honey sticks some things come FedEx and that would put them closer to me for quicker delivery,” she said.
Mount Juliet Mayor Ed Hagerty said FedEx has considered other locations and said he's not aware of any definite deals just yet.
