Mt. Juliet Police Department Opens New Headquarters
MT. JULIET, Tenn. – One of the fastest growing cities in Tennessee has taken a big step to help keep the community safe.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department opened their new headquarters on Charlie Daniels Parkway during a ceremony Friday.
With Mt. Juliet being the fastest growing city in the state, officials said public safety is top priority.
“We’ve been ranked sixth in the state [for the] safest city, which is a tremendous achievement,” said Mayor Ed Hagerty. “No one [is] satisfied though.”
Since 1972, the department has shared a building with City Hall and a bank. The $2 million free-standing headquarters provides three times the space of the old location.
Chief Hambrick has also invited residents to attend "Coffee with a Cop" on the third Friday of every month.
