Roane County Putting 'In God We Trust' On Courthouse
KINGSTON, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee county is putting the words "In God We Trust" around the county courthouse.
WVLT-TV in Knoxville reported that Roane County commissioners voted this week to place signs at the north entrance, south entrance and on a cast bronze plaque in the commission's meeting room.
Commissioner Randy Ellis said the commission considered the idea several times before approving it.
The signs will be made of black granite with the words "In God We Trust" written in gold leaf.
The project is expected to cost around $4,300 which will all come from private donations. It is expected to be complete anywhere from 6-8 weeks.
Roane County joins Putnam and Anderson counties to display the words at the courthouse.
