NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after police said he threatened a 9-year-old boy with a box cutter.
Jeremy Earps told Metropolitan Nashville Police he was riding his bicycle outside his aunt's house on S. 14th Street on Monday afternoon when a man came up to him. He said he threatened him with the box cutter.
"I ride my bike up and down the street up the hill and back down and he was walking up that way and he said it," Earps said Tuesday.
"He said 'come here you little b******, I'm going to cut your guts out,'" the 9-year-old explained.
The boy was able to ride over to his aunt's house, where someone called police.
When officers arrived, the boy's aunt told them she saw the man, identified as 43-year-old Russell Young, staggering down the street and possibly intoxicated.
Police located Young at a home down the street, according to the affidavit. A search of the home found a box cutter allegedly used in the case.
Young was taken into custody, and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $10,000, with a court date set for Friday.
