NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was taken into custody after he made threats against several people with a boxcutter, including the responding police officer.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said David Serrano walked into a Nashville business and started arguing with his girlfriend.

When the suspect realized the employee was on the phone with police, he threatened to kill both of them.

An officer said by the time he arrived, Serrano was at a nearby bus stop. After he approached the suspect and began talking to him, the officer said Serrano pulled out the boxcutter and put it to his throat.

The officer said he calmly talked Serrano down and was able to put him in handcuffs.

Serrano was booked on two counts of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $50,000.
