Intersection Closed After Crash Takes Out Traffic Lights
HERMITAGE, Tenn. – An intersection in Hermitage has been closed after a vehicle hit a utility pole and took out the traffic lights.
The crash happened Sunday just before 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Shute Lane and Old Hickory Boulevard.
Officials said a group of teens driving a Ford Mustang went off the road as they took a sharp corner. The vehicle hit a utility pole and ended up in a heavily wooded area.
As the car continued off the road, it snagged the power lines and pulled the traffic lights down.
The teens were not badly injured, but transported to Skyline Medical Center as a precaution.
The intersection was closed while crews worked to repair the lights.
