US Rep.: TDOT Approves Safety Measures At Bellevue Train Crossing
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Safety measures have been approved for a train crossing in Bellevue, according to a U.S. Rep. in Tennessee.
U.S. Rep. Bo Mitchell (D-Tenn.) posted on his Facebook page Saturday night that the Tennessee Department of Transportation has approved his request for more safety measures at the tracks on McCrory Lane and Highway 70 in Bellevue.
Mitchell also said a traffic signal, turn lane and crossing arms would be installed at the intersection.
In June, several teens were hurt when their vehicle was struck by a train at the intersection. A few months earlier, a woman was also hurt in a similar incident.
Mitchell said he believes TDOT’s improvement will not only make the area safer but allow traffic to flow more efficiently.
