CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect wanted in connection with stabbing two women in Clarksville has been arrested in Kentucky.
James Choate was taken into custody Friday afternoon and was being held at the Christian County Jail in Hopkinsville.
Clarksville Police said Choate has been accused of stabbing Crystal Furin and her mother, Rockanne Furin, inside a home in the 600 block of Norris Drive.
Police said he fled the scene in one of the women's cars.
One of the victims called 911 for help around 7:40 a.m. Friday. Police said the original call for help indicated one of the victims had also been shot, but that turned out not to be true.
Another man was also initially implicated in the incident, but police said that was no longer the case.
Both victims were taken to the hospital, where Crystal Furin was said to be in critical condition. Both were expected to make a full recovery.
Police said they do not believe the crime was random.
The investigation remains ongoing.
