NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP/NewsChannel 5) - A Nashville man has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for several domestic violence-related crimes.

Judge Mark Fishburn on Wednesday sentenced Mark Dobson, who also goes by the name Mark Martin, to the prison sentence. A jury in March found him guilty of five counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and employing a weapon during commission of a dangerous felony.

Prior to the trial, Dobson also pleaded guilty to one count of domestic assault.

Dobson allegedly entered the home of his estranged girlfriend in July 2011 and held her and her four children at gunpoint through a night and during a forced car ride the next day.

Dobson fled the scene after the woman took her children into a building and told staff to call police. Police said he found her the next day and beat her before law enforcement was called again. He was later found and arrested.

Dobson will have to serve 40 years of the sentence at 100 percent, with the remaining 30 years at 45-percent.
