NASHVILLE, Tenn. – It's months away from being finished, but baseball fans got a preview of what it will be like to watch a game at the new Nashville Sounds ballpark in Sulphur Dell.
At an informational meeting for fans and neighbors, a new video tour showed off some of the features of the new First Tennessee Park.
The video tour showed a group socializing area behind home plate, a greenway that will be just beyond the center field fence, as well as 18 club level suites, and a new guitar shaped video scoreboard.
People at the meeting were excited to see what the finished product will look like.
“I think it’s going to be nice,” said one North Nashville resident. “It’s an exciting process and I think it will be a historic event for the city.”
“The seating, and the club level, it is beautiful,” added another resident. “I can’t wait.”
The new ballpark is scheduled to open for the start of the 2015 season in April. Project managers said construction is on schedule, and they fully expect to meet that deadline.
