MADISON, Tenn. - An innocent shopping trip turned into moments of panic for one woman after she was left stranded when someone allegedly stole her wheelchair outside an area Walmart.
Mariea Cellon was shopping for a watermelon at a Walmart in Madison when she said someone stole her wheelchair.
She reportedly left it at the front near the greeter in exchange for a motorized wheelchair, and when she came back it was gone.
Cellon said an alleged suspect was captured on security video taking it.
"Well, I hope he really needed it badly because he kind of spoiled my Fourth of July, but I'm not going to let it dampen my spirits. I've got a pretty day and my watermelon,” she said.
Fortunately, a clerk was kind enough to clock out, take her to the car with her groceries and even help carry her into her home.
Cellon filed a police report for the stolen wheelchair and said she hopes it’s found very soon.
