Tennessee State Parks Acquires 30 Acres Adjacent To Dunbar Cave
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee State Parks announced it has acquired 30 acres of land adjacent to Dunbar Cave State Park.
Park officials said Thursday it was the result of a need to protection the property and resources, viewshed and watershed.
Water drains into the Dunbar Cave system through a sinkhole and they said the acquisition would help protect that drainage.
The acquisition was made possible through a collaboration of the Friends of Dunbar Cave, the State Lands Acquisition Fund and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).
Dunbar Cave State Park is located 60 minutes northwest of Nashville and about 1.5 miles northeast of downtown Clarksville in Montgomery County.
