One Killed, Another Injured In Moore County Crash
MOORE COUNTY, Tenn. – One person was killed and another was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Moore County, between Tullahoma and Shelbyville.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the incident occurred Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 41.
THP said the victim, identified as 26-year-old Davy T. Wall, of Tullahoma, was traveling north on Highway 41 when his car veered across the turn lane and into the southbound lane of traffic. Wall reportedly attempted to correct and veered back into the north lane of traffic.
A second vehicle, being driven by 48-year-old Velencia Whittaker, of Shelbyville, tried to avoid the crash but collided with Wall’s car in the turn lane.
Another vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Andrew Clanton, of Shelbyville, was also unable to avoid the wreck and crashed into one of the two vehicles.
Officials said Wall died at the scene. Whittaker was airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital Medical Center, where her condition was not known.
Clanton was reportedly not injured in the incident.
Traffic was said to have been backed up for quite a while officials worked to clear the scene.
