Indiana Woman Charged In Franklin Shoplifting
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – An Indiana woman was charged after police said she shoplifted more than $1,400 in jewelry from a Franklin jewelry shop.
Franklin Police said 66-year-old Teresa Perkins surrendered on June 25 after she was indicted on a charge of felony theft by the Williamson County Grand Jury.
Investigators said Perkins was identified as the suspect who was caught on surveillance concealing approximately 30 pieces of jewelry during a 40-minute visit to the Shoppes on Main on February 15. Before leaving, she used her own credit card to purchase two items, totaling $55.50.
The owner later noticed the missing items, and called police. He used the surveillance video from his store to identify Perkins from her purchase.
Perkins, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, was freed on $5,000 bond. An arraignment was set for August 12.
